261407 - get mail does nothing after compact this folder

Cannot retrieve mail after compact folder has been carried out! Also, junk mail
status is lost on Junk folder mails.


Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Starting condition: mail has been retrieved for an account (POP P/W is cached).
Sequence:
1. move some mails about between Trash, Junk and Inbox to create a compact
needed situation.
2. Then highlight the Junk folder and select "Compact this Folder.
3. Then click on Get Mail - nothing happens.
4. Notice that the Junk status has disappeared from the Junk Mail Folder items.


Expected Results:  
Carried out a "Get Mail" action. NOT disturbed the junk mail status of items in
the Junk Folder.

please try a .8 nightly tbird build from yesterday or today, or a nightly trunk
tbird build. I suspect this is a dup of 260981

260981 does not mention that "Get Mail" fails! Are you sure there is a connection?
Also, this problem also manifests on i386/Linux.

the problem that's fixed in bug 260981 could cause all sorts of problem,
particularly after empty trash or compact folder...and it's cross-platform,
windows, mac, or linux.

OK. Problem appears to be fixed in nightly 20040923.
