When attempting to import *.pst folders saved in Outlook I cannot specify them
for import by name.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tools
2. Import
3. Mail
4. Outlook
Actual Results:
The following frustrating and not helpful dialog was presented:
"Either there is no default mail clent or the current mail client cannot fulfill
the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default
mail client."
This is not how importing should be handled.
Expected Results:
It appears that the only way to import is for another e-mail program to be the
default, and to then attempt an import. This makes migration from outlook very
problematic if one is attempting to merge several saved *.pst files (saved to
avoid the 2GB crash size limitation). One, I might note I *hope* very much is
not a bug existing in Thunderbird. For Thunderbird to have a size limitation
for any folder or inbox like Outlook has would be in my mind a fatal flaw.
The software should ask for the *.pst file that I would like to import. It
should then give me the option to ignore duplicates (and simply insert them),
replace duplicates, or discard duplicates.
