there is no option to edit passwords at the moment. (poor accessibility)

expected:
1.Open password manager
2.double leftclick on a url , on a login name or on a password to edit either of
these
3.change the field value and click ok
(resulting in signons.txt being changed)

This should work in both urls that have a login/password registered as those
that have not.

empty strings allowed in login name or password so that the user can choose
which one (or neither) he wants to be filled in.
this bug partially dupes bug 216539 , but too many requests in that bug to reopen.

I think this is a wontfix at this point.

Firefox 3 uses a notification bar for saving passwords, so the problem of saving a login with a wrong username/password and then wanting to correct it manually is virtually eliminated. The password manager will update saved passwords when it sees you changing them, and in the worst case you can just delete the login and create it again.

There might be a few very rare corner cases where being able to manually edit things would be interesting to an advanced user, but that's best left to an extension.
