With in-line spelling in 1.1, the next spelling step seems to allow auto-correct
-- to automagically change finger bobbles to the correct word (teh to the, ahve
to have etc). There is at least one extension that does this today
http://www.supportware.net/mozilla/#ext8, but it is extremely buggy. MSFT Word
(and this extension) offers users the opportunity to enter autocorrectable words
and its corresponding substitution. Outlook, Eudora both offer autocorrect
functionality

Reproducible: Always

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

The latest beta releases can be obtained from:
Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/
Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/1.5beta1.html
Seamonkey: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
This is an enhancement request -- for a feature that exists in most major email
clients, and probably should not be auto-resolved.
In vim, I'm using the wordlist in <http://web.informatik.uni-bonn.de/II/ag-klein/people/zach/vim/programs/acl/vimrc.wordlist> for common mispellings. The normal spellcheck is not usable for this purpose.

Looks to be the only bug for this marking new.

In the Ctrl+K spell checking window, you can have a Replace All option. You should also be able to set that as an autocorrect rule.

Any chance this bug will be picked up in the foreseeable future? I would really like to see autocorrect in thunderbird -- there's an ancient plugin available but it's quite buggy with recent thunderbird releases. Can't the logic just be plundered from openoffice or evolution (not that I'm a coder...)?

Additional to this I wish the browser also auto suggest list of words while typing.

Mass bug change to replace various 'parity' whiteboard flags with the new canonical keywords. (See bug 1443764 comment 13.)
