User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 If you create a new account, change its folder location to a new, empty folder in Account Settings -> Server Settings, and then download mail, the mail is gone after restarting Thunderbird. AFAICT, after the attempted folder change, TB still funnels downloaded messages into the default folder until it is restarted; a look at filesizes in the default folder after the fact seems to confirm this. Note, it is impossible to create a new folder in TB; the Settings dialog only allows browsing and selection of existing folders. Thus I had to use Windows Explorer to create the new folder(s). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new account (any type, but do not download yet). 2. Open Account Settings for the new account. 3. Go to Server Settings and change the folder location to a new, empty folder. (may need to use Windows Explorer to create said new folder). 4. Download mail using the new account. 5. Exit Thunderbird. 6. Relaunch Thunderbird. (Do not check mail yet) 7. Choose to Work Offline. 8. Check inbox, while offline. Actual Results: Inbox is found empty. Panic ensues if using POP3. Expected Results: Inbox should contain all the emails downloaded before exiting.
