Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050429 Firefox/1.0.4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050429 Firefox/1.0.4

Some aviary-branch nightlies of Fx and TB crash at the end of install (progress
bar nearly at end) with the message: Error: Quality Feedback Agent -214 DOES NOT
EXIST. When that happens, the installer is stalled and must be closed manually
by clicking the red [X] button at upper right. The browser (or mail client)
executable is usually already installed at that point and seems to function
correctly -- or at least not worse than the day before.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the win32 Fx or TB installer from the latest-aviary1.0.1
subdirectory or from the specific "dated" nightly subdirectory.
2. Run the installer.

Actual Results:
Error popup (see description above) with progress bar nearly at end. The
installer is stalled and must be closed by hand.

Expected Results:
The installer should have proceeded to end-of-job, and (after asking) launched
the Fx or TB executable.

I don't know why this bug happens on some nightlies and not on others. It does
happen on the version I'm using to report this bug.

Duplicate of bug 250818?

I guess so. AFAICT all symptoms correspond.

I suppose bug 291489 (which concerned the 20050422 aviary nightly, disappeared
on 20050423 and has since reappeared) can also be marked duplicate of bug 250818.

Additional information:
This bug is still present in the newly posted "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows
NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050430 Firefox/1.0.4" which I am using now.
