(Whiteboard: [tracking bug for Extension support])

This bug is to track Extensions which have been updated to support Firefox 1.4
Beta 1 and which have been verified to work. Extension authors should comment in
this bug once they have updated and verified their Extension.

Tabbrowser Preferences 1.2.8 will be released on Friday after 1.5b1 is released
and I have verified that nothing else has slipped in since 1.4_20050906.
The AdBlock extension available at u.m.o seems to be broken with the latest 1.5
Beta 1 branch builds. Any Flash content and some Java content seems to be
grayed out by default after install. However, there seems to be another
version floating around that fixes the problems I have been seeing. I can be
found here:
http://aasted.org/adblock/viewtopic.php?t=2264&sid=5c7b4bb21e9c4dd9b93ae614d0d9c265

Perhaps the official AdBlock authors can get in touch with whoever put that
together to make sure we have a "working" version available on u.m.o.
LiveHTTPHeaders 0.10 is broken with recent nightlys. This Bug is reported in the
LiveHTTPHeaders Bugzilla but i dont know if the original author is working on it
or not.
Re: AdBlock

With the AdBlock version available at u.m.o, I have found a workaround that
works for me in terms of showing the missing Flash content:

1. Goto Tools->AdBlock->Preferences
2. Click the AdBlock Options button
3. Uncheck the "Obj-Tabs" option

This seems to solve the problem I have been seeing, but it also disables the
display of the AdBlock tabs over any content that can be blocked with the
extension. This should be fixed if possible, but release noted at the least if
that doesn't happen anytime soon.
I have this problem with Adblock (NOT Adblock Plus)
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306718

can anyone else confirm.

Bug 306754 is one the of the problems with Adblock (latest version on u.m.o, I
was using the extensions updater). But it was been reported that adding
xpcnativewrappers=no to the chrome manifest will fix this.
ChatZilla 0.9.68.5.1 has support for Firefox 1.5 Beta 1, and has been available
on UMO since 2 September 2005.
Most of my extensions already worked in Firefox 1.5 Beta 1, so I bumped
maxVersion and reuploaded:

http://www.squarefree.com/extensions/thumbs/
http://www.squarefree.com/extensions/search-keys/
http://www.squarefree.com/extensions/high/
http://www.squarefree.com/extensions/adbar/

For http://www.squarefree.com/extensions/owo/, I fixed a cosmetic problem and
uploaded a new version.

I haven't updated http://www.squarefree.com/extensions/delicious-delicacies/ to
work with builds after the Options window rewrite.
Bookmarks Sync does not work. I tried simply updating the maxVersion to 1.4 but
no go. Clicking upload or download no longer produces any action. I don't know
enough to fix it myself, but hopefully someone will. This is a major extension
for me in using Firefox.

So far though, great beta!
Flashblock 1.3.3alpha works fine in Firefox 1.4 Beta 1 and in current Firefox
1.6a nightlies.
I went around and submitted around 15 bugs on mozdev for extensions there that
are not compatible so hopefully this bug will get some more activity with
extensions being compatible.
http://216.55.161.203/theonekea/tabprefs/tabprefs_1.2.8.1.xpi

TBP 1.2.8.1 was released, to repair improper encodings in the de-DE and nl-NL
locales.
Forecastfox 0.8.2.1 is compatible with Fx 1.5 Beta 1.

We had a problem with this line:

var image =
Components.classes["@mozilla.org/content/element/html;1?name=img"].createInstance(Components.interfaces.nsIDOMHTMLImageElement);

Throwing this error:

Error: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80570015
(NS_ERROR_XPC_CI_RETURNED_FAILURE) [nsIJSCID.createInstance]"

Maybe someone can email me if you know how to create a nsIDOMHTMLImageElement in
1.5 - jstritar@mit.edu.
StumbleUpon 2.04 now works in Firefox 1.5beta. (no code changes, just had to up
the MaxVer)
I have bumped the maxversion for several of my extensions:
FxIF
Plain Text Links
Tab Preview
Nuke Anything (although I have yet to fix "Nuke Selection")
MenuX 0.2.4 now works in Firefox 1.5 beta 1. Made code changes and bumped up the
maxVersion number.
Updated and working:
Bugmenot 0.7
Duplicate Tab 0.6
Listzilla 0.6
Tab Clicking Options 0.6
Word Count 0.2

No update and not working to date:
text/plain 1.1.5
U.S. Homeland Security Threat Level 0.4
HashColoredTabs 0.3.2
Checky 2.5 does not work after updating the maxVersion. On updates.mozilla it
says 2.5 works with deer park, but it does not.
mozCC 1.1.2 works with 1.5 Beta 1.
PDF Download has been updated in order to support Firefox 1.5 Beta1. Check on
the author website (http://www.rabotat.org/firefox) or wait until Mozilla
Editors will update the release on Mozilla Update.
linkToolbar 1.1 works with FF1.4, though it's not a toolbar anymore, but rather
several toolbar buttons. EM update to it didn't work, though...had to manually
pull it from its website.

With an install.rdf update, it mostly works on trunk, too (I'm having trouble
with grabbing one of its buttons...the More button, in order to drag/drop it to
a toolbar...same thing with the Launchy button too though, so not sure if it's
linkToolbar's problem or what at this point). No problem opened by me on this yet.
xforms should work when maxVersion is fixed, see bug 305227. It's approved, and
only awaits check in (which I will do when I have updated my tree).
Menu Editor and InfoLister were updated to work with 1.5beta.
Bookmark Links Checker has been broken for a long time:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=18401
smoothwheel works without any code changes. update.rdf updated on mozdev.org.
versions on UMO (FF/MZ/TB/NS/NVU) updated.
Some of my extensions have had remote maxVersion bumps at Mozilla Update...

Image Toolbar should be updated within the week, I'll post back on that if
appropriate. Foobar Controls will get an update shortly, but likely not while
this bug still counts for anything.
Nuke Anything Enhanced has been updated and uploaded to u.m.o

Update...the problem of being unable to grab/cut/paste the Launchy and
linkToolbar "more" buttons magically went away a couple of trunk builds back.
Web Developer 0.9.4 contains a maxversion update to 1.4, and seems to work just
fine (and works on trunk with a manual install.rdf update to 1.6+).
The Abe Vigoda Status extension has been updated to version 2.2, which is now
compatible with Firefox 1.5 Beta 2. I have submitted it to Mozilla Update,
although it has not yet been accepted by an editor (at the time of this
writing). In the meantime, it can be found at:

http://www.vesterman.com/FirefoxExtensionInstallers/abevigodastatus.xpi
I mean "Firefox 1.5 Beta 1", of course.
I updated and tested my Reuse Home Page extension, now 1.2 on addons.mozilla.org.
Paste and Go 0.4.2 now has 1.4 maxversion, and works.
The Sort Extensions extension has been updated to version 2.0, which is now
compatible with Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 and Thunderbird 1.5 Beta 1. I have submitted
it to Mozilla Update, although it has not yet been accepted by an editor (at the
time of this writing). In the meantime, it can be found at:

Sorry to the list for the cc, but what the heck is this one?

Livehttpheaders has xpcnativewrappers issues. Unless you set
xpcnativewrappers=no in chrome.manifest, it does not work from View -> Page Info.
Linkification 1.1.5 was disabled during
install of FF 1.5 beta 1 (not compatible with FF 1.4)

according to download page compatible 0.9.x to 1.6.1a

(seems to work after uninstall and reinstall)

Some were updated during installation.

I updated additionally
PDF download 0.5.1.1
  manually.

Others disabled:
(I have not reinstalled them or checked relevant home pages)
Flashbloc 1.3.2 (1.3.3a should work as reported here)
  Copy Links 0.1.2
  Sage 1.3.6
StumbleUpon 2.0.2 (2.04 works in 1.5b 1 as rep here)
  Tite of Tongue 0.3.1
  WebDeveloper 0.8.4
Bookmarks Synchronizer 1.0.1 (malfunctin reported here)

I am not sure about the process of reporting updated extension and their range
of supported FF-versions. Could there be some improvements?

Ah - with 1.5b2 out and the switch to 1.4.1, everything broke, and we're back to
start. Can you developers just make extensions compatible to 1.5 to avoid this
issue when RCs come out and 1.5 final? Thanks.
In addition to bumping the maxVersion for the extensions I listed in comment 27,
I've now released Image Toolbar 0.6:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=243

All of the extensions mentioned by me in this bug should be 1.4.1 compatible.

We can't - AMO won't accept extensions with a maxVersion of 1.5 yet.
Tested and working with 1.5b1 and 1.5b2:

Paste Email v1.0, Back to Top v1.11

http://customsoftwareconsult.com/extensions/index.html
Firefox Button Pack now works with 1.5 Beta 1 (Firefox 1.4.1)

http://www.bamm.gabriana.com/buttonpack.html
Sorry for the spam, I meant beta 2, not beta 1.
AMO does not accept exts with max FF version "higher" than 1.4.1. An intention ? A bug ?
I'm getting nervous that no one is taking over the development of Bookmarks sync (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&category=Bookmarks&numpg=10&id=14), because this ext is one I rely on so heavily that it would not be worth it for me to upgrade - unfortunately there is no compat with FF 1.4+ at all, and I tried toying with the maxVersion myself but it needs more than that.

If I knew enough about this I would develop it myself. Is there anyone who can at least help me to work out the kinks to keep this working? I want to try out 1.5 so badly! If someone can help me learn more than the basics I've read devmo to keep this baby updated, I'm willing!
Tinkering and testing has produced an update to Bookmarks Sync - I'll call it 1.0.2. It seems to work just fine for me in 1.5 RC1 released yesterday, but I'd like some help testing it.

Download can be found here: http://www.botsko.net/wiki/index.php/Other:Firefox. Please email me with your results - I would really appreciate your feedback.

I can't upload this to UMO because I don't "own" the extension so if anyone can help me with getting UMO updated I would appreciate that - otherwise I'll go ahead and contact the UMO admins.
