The list of common plugins located at https://pfs.mozilla.org/plugins/ is
missing the Viewpoint Media Player (VMP). The VMP is installed on between 70
and 120 million computers I think qualifying it as a common plug-in.

What does it do - never heard of it!

Simply put, it’s a Rich Media plug-in that renders interactive photo realistic
3D models, High resolution images, Video, and vector graphics (including Flash
5, SWF and SVG) in a single player. You can see a number of examples at

Speaking purely personally, I've never come across a site that needs this
viewer. On the other hand, there are many sites that need the "common" viewers.
There can only be a limited number of plugins listed as "very common" - does
the need for this plugin justify inclusion - I don't know.
I will alter the summary to reflect the request more accurately. I'm not 100%
sure about the component, but I will confirm the bug. That way it will make its
way into view of people who can decide if this is something Mozilla want to do.

BTW, should this be Windows-only, or is the plugin available for Mac/Linux?

We had hard work together to make VMP Scriptability working with Mozilla core. IMHO this should be there. We dont'have lots of 3d realtime rendering plugins available. This plugin renders pretty well and offers great JS scriptability *both* ways, in Gecko on Windows.

Here is one of our articles:

Updating PFS bugs -- nobody has touched these in a long time, so I am assigning to default, so we can pick them off the list one-by-one.

We aren't adding any new Plugins to that page and most likely killing it quite soon.
