Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: version 1.5 Beta 1 (20050908) A small orange/red flag appears on the folder icon in the folders pane when there is new mail added or moved to the folder, and the folder has not been visited since that happened. But, if this folder is a member of another folder group, and the group is currently collapsed, this "new mail" indicator is not promoted to the containing (collapsed) folder (etc., to the top of the collapsed hierarchy). This means new mail can be missed because the mail has been placed into a folder when the group is collapsed. Expanding the group to the correct level will show the "new mail" indicator, but having to do so defeats the advantages and purposes of collapsing folders (i.e., to save real estate within the folders pane). The bolding indicating "unread" mail is promoted within collapsed folders-- the "new mail" indicator would be usefully promoted in the same way. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Receive new mail using a filter to move it to a folder in a collapsed group of folders. 2. Open the collapsed group to see the "new mail" indicator on the folder. 3. Note that this "new mail" indicator was not seen on the folder icon of the collapsed group, nor does it appear when the group is again collapsed. Actual Results: See "steps to reproduce" Expected Results: This is an RFE

I can confirm this bug; however, it seems to be a dupe of #95193. Furthermore, if a message is filtered to a local folder, the inboxes' "new mail" indicator keeps being set, even though there is no new mail in this inbox.
