Not able to communicate with running instance. Nothing happens.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Tbird from command line like this:
% thunderbird &

2. Try to open up a compose window:
% thunderbird mailto: &

3. Nothing happens. Same if I click a mailto: link in Firefox.

This works perfect in Tbird/Ffox 1.0.7

FWIW, this works fine on linux -> solaris only.

I can verify that it works on Linux but I don't believe this to be a Solaris only bug since I stumbled upon this bug reported for HP-UX:

Sorry, should it be duplicated for Ffox or should it be moved to Core? I just verified its reproducible in SeaMonkey 1.0 alpha as well?
