This one came from Jason: " i'm backing up my mail from one account to another and the status bar flashes between downloading message, and the message N out of X completed but the downloading message shows up for way longer than the n out of x one so you can't see what N is could you just not make it show downloading message for this case? and just show the counter incrementing?" Maybe we could supress the downloading message text when we're in the process of copying messages around.
hmm, maybe we can, based on the type of the url.

perhaps a simple check of the imap action in nsImapProtocol::UploadMessageFromFile, perhaps combined with a check of how many messages are being copied.
