User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 I'm using the official TB 1.5 on Win XP, and noticed that the retention policy introduced in 1.5 doesn't seem to be working properly in my case. My setup: - 3 IMAP accounts - each account set to not delete messages automatically - trash folder of each account set to delete messages over 30 days old. Basically, messages older than 30 days are not being deleted. After finding this problem, I verified the same problem on the Junk folder, so it's not unique to the Trash folder. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Set up IMAP account 2.Set retention policy on a folder that has messages that should be deleted by the policy (i.e., delete messages older than 5 days, use folder with messages older than 5 days) 3.Leave folder and come back, or shut down TB and restart 4.Note that messages older than retention threshold are still present. Actual Results: Messages older than the retention policy threshold are not deleted. Expected Results: Messages older than the retention policy threshold should have been deleted automatically upon leaving the folder and coming back, or at least upon exiting TB and restarting. If you manually compact the folder, the appropriate messages are deleted. But since IMAP folders are never automatically compacted, this is forced to be a manual process.
(In reply to comment #0) Sorry, wrong build ID in report. Official TB 1.5: version 1.5 (20051201)
Confirmed in 1.5.0.2, build 20060308. Server is OpenVMS 8.2, TCPIP 5.5. Retention policy of 7 days does not take effect unless folder is manually compacted.
This also happens in Seamonkey 1.1 beta.
