Fonts and Character encoding settings are very buggy... When I choose some font size in settings, the text in message window stays the same??? Changing character encoding can be done only once. Afterwards, the Character encoding drop-down list gets locked???

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Options->Display->Fonts->Character encodings once
2.Choose some option from the drop-down list for incoming and outgoing mail 
3.Close the Options window
4.Repeat 1.-3. The drop-down is not working.

This is true, it doesn't get applied to the currently displayed message; but if you re-select the message, it will be displayed per the new setting.

Yes, that's a problem: bug 315057.  The fix will be in 1.5.0.2.
