I think this is about the activate/deactivate events again.

Related to Bug 346757?

I don't think so. bug 346757 is a regression which took place some time later than this bug was filed. and they are about different things.

This bug is still reproducible with 20070201 trunk build.

Is this a dupe of bug 332662? Does it work correctly now?

GOK display of FF3 menus is borked (tested with FF trunk and alpha7, FF2 still okay). Will need to dig into that first.

Should this bug be elevated in order to get it fixed for Firefox 3?
Is there a simple workaround such as leaving and re-activating the menu bar?

Hi Tim. I need to make time to delve into why GOK is displaying really odd menu keyboards for FF3. I think this is a regression from even the original bug description.

Changing resolution to WORKSFORME as the fix went into GOK, not Firefox.

David,
I've checked out latest GOK trunk and Firefox 3 trunk on Ubuntu 7.04.
I could not enter any menu of Firefox 3 with GOK.
Did I miss something?

Ginn,
Thanks for checking. It worked for me again today with my test configuration from yesterday (GOK trunk, a nightly FF build I grabbed yesterday, and Ubuntu 7.04).
I've also just checked with the new nightly FF3 and the first time both GOK and Accerciser see:
File as menu
Edit as menu
View as menu item!
History as menu item!
...
(Bug 396799 showing itself again I guess)
I tried again (restarting FF3 nightly) and it worked.
Can you describe what happens for you?
I think once the dependency bug (396799) is resolved this will resolve. There is nothing else GOK or Accerciser can do I don't think. Feel free to leave this open of course so we can check the future 396799 resolution.

Thanks, David.
I think I met Bug 396799.

David, I retried several times.
Sometimes Bug 396799 disappeared, but I still have this bug.
Steps:
Start Firefox, don't open any menu.
Make sure Bug 396799 is not there.
Use GOK to access Menu->History.
I got nothing between "Home" and "Recently Closed Tabs"
Press back in GOK.
Open "History" menu by mouse or alt+s.
Use GOK to access Menu->History again.
You should get all the menuitems now.

Ginn, a couple of questions.
Have you tried at-poke or accerciser to recreate the history problem?
Does the bug description still happen?
Comment 21•18 years ago
|
||
Yes, and yes.
It's not a bug of GOK.

And a year goes by. I notice this is an orca blocker. Are orca users still seeing this problem?

The history log says I added bug #374212 to the blocks list on 2007-03-16. I cannot remember *why* I added it, but it may have been related to a user of Orca running into really strange behavior with the "History" menu. My system is unfortunately hosed at the moment (such is life with bleeding edge software), so I cannot test it. :-( But, I thought I'd mention this just in case it jogs someone else's memory cells.

I just restarted my box and tested with Orca and Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008101315 Ubuntu/8.10 (intrepid) Firefox/3.0.3. I didn't notice the menu strangeness we saw in the past.
