333399 - Deleted Bookmarks - NOT filed already. ALSO Theme / Preferences forgotten.

After the most recent update Firefox deleted all loose (non-filed) bookmarks. All bookmarks which had been organized into folders were maintained, but all those not sorted were lost. Is there a way I can get these back???????

At the same time, Mozilla forgot which theme it was using as well as all my Mozilla options. I was able to reinstate all options with a few minutes of work.

I am quite upset to lose 30 bookmarks!!! Partially my error for not having sorted them properly before the Auto-Update went through... had I known I would lose them. I have read other reports of others losing ALL bookmarks, thusly I guess losing only 30 isn't so bad.
CAN I GET THEM BACK?!?!?!

Need to know if there is a way to retrieve these lost bookmarks. I had job posting in there. Quite Important.

search for "bookmarks" on your computer (search hidden/system files too maybe). You'll likely find several files. One of them should be your firefox bookmarks that were lost, or a backup copy.

mozilla seems to have lost or corrupted a profile when it was upgraded.

Yes, you should read those.  But in the meantime, please delete localstore.rdf from your profile directory, and post results in bug 249150.

Please do not post to bug 249150 about the results of deleting localstore.rdf since it has no relevance to that bug.

Roger, please try the suggestions in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmarks_not_saved and also try the links that crf gave and report back to let us know how you got on.
