dom inspector reinvented window.sidebar access because window.sidebar couldn't tell if it could trust its callers to allow trusted access. with bug 334875, the sidebar object knows if its caller is chrome or not. if it's chrome, the sidebar will let callers add chrome urls. this bug kinda requires window.sidebar provide an api through which trusted callers can ask if a given url is already installed, because w/o that, domi still needs to fish for that information on its own.
