(I guess this issue exists in Trunk builds too, but I can't use them anymore.)

Can something be done to fix both applications ?

[Mozilla Thunderbird, version 2 alpha 1 (20060506)] (tinderbox-builds, 2006050504(+)) (W98SE)

In (Thunderbird) bug 252393 comment 13,
I noticed:
[[
... unlike the 'Get Mail' and 'Print' buttons, the 'File' icon and dropmarker
behave synchronously wrt :hover and :active.
]]

And, if I remember well, you replied to me that this was caused by the File button not having default behaviours, which the other two buttons have.

[Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060505 SeaMonkey/1.1a] (tinderbox-builds, 2006050514) (W98SE)

Today, when verifying bug 282189 resolution (which is the Toolkit->XPFE) port of the former bug),
I noticed that the Classic theme File button in SeaMonkey has the same/worse issue:
*the icon and dropmarker behave as one button.
*the dropmarker is right next to the File text, which looks rather "wrong".

This is by design.

>*the dropmarker is right next to the File text, which looks rather "wrong".
Offhand I'm guessing that the width is being applied in the wrong place.
