337937 - Thunderbird will not uninstall from Windows 98 SE Control panel Add/Remove software

Uninstaller will not initiate when trying to remove Mozilla Thunderbird. I go to Start - settings - control panel - double click Add/Remove programs Icon. I get the hour glass cursor for approx. 10 seconds then nothing.  When I look in the Windows task manager it shows Uninstall listed three times at the bottom of the list. I have closed down each occurance of the uninstall through Task manager rebooted and tried to uninstall by double clicking the uninstall.exe file in the mozilla thunderbird uninstall folder. Nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANAL - ADD/REMOVE SOFTWARE - scroll to Mozilla Thunderbird (1.5) highlight and click ADD?REMOVE button

Actual Results:  
As stated in Steps to Reproduce

Expected Results:  
Nothing, the mouse pointer turned into an hourglass for apprx. 10 seconds then nothing.

The uninstaller should have started. No error messages were produced at any time and each time the Uninstall was listed in Windows Task Manager.

I can confirm that the uninstaller process runs, but does nothing and doesn't quit, unless you stop it manually.

This seems to be the same bug as <a href="335458"> https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335458 </a>

I can also confirm this still happens in both thunderbird and firefox 1.5.0.4
