Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: I cut the text from a html page in FF. The option in the TB menu "without formatting" is disabled. I tried to past it with formatting in TB, then recut it within TB and tried to reinsert it without formatting which then was enabled as an option. Actual Results: However the whole text was than formatted as an underline link in blue. Expected Results: I do not want to compose html mails at all. I want to sent plain text mails only and I find the behaviour of the insert configuration quite annoying because it usually defaults to html inserts.

(In reply to comment #0) > I do not want to compose html mails at all. The sure test of whether you're composing as HTML is whether the compose window has a Format menu (in the top menubar). Note that composing as HTML doesn't necessarily imply sending as HTML. The option for HTML vs. plain compose is found in the Account Settings. Each account has a page of Composition & Addressing settings, which apply to the default identity for that account; if you have multiple identities, you need to edit each one individually (using the Manage Identities button on the first page of settings for each account). If that doesn't solve your problem, please respond to the following questions, and provide the version ID for your build of Thunderbird. > I cut the text from a html page in FF. Can you point to a specific page, and detail which specific section, you're talking about? There are all kinds of formatting out there. > The option in the TB menu "without formatting" is disabled. That is typical for a plain-text composition window, but it could be the case in an HTML composition window as well. > I tried to past it with formatting in TB, then recut it within > TB and tried to reinsert it without formatting which then was enabled > as an option. "Without formatting" enabled implies you are using an HTML compose window. > Actual Results: > However the whole text was than formatted as an underline link in blue. Is this the formatting that the text had in the original page?
