I guess I'd like to see Joao Neves vouch/comment, as sunbird and firefox share
toolkit, and he's owner of that.
Summary: European Portuguese (pt-PT) Localization Team Registration → Sunbird European Portuguese (pt-PT) Localization Team Registration
João Pinheiro has contacted me directly and has since joined our mailing-list. Nobody showed an interest in sunbird before, so there's no conflict regarding that part. We do expect him to use the same translation of toolkit we're using (an acknowledgemnt of that might be useful). Basically, I have nothing against it.
I do plan to use your translation of toolkit for my work on the Sunbird localization.
lillmatt, your call, I'd be fine with this.

If you need a CVS account, CC me, and Joao Neves should vouch.

I'm fine with it

Thank you. Yes, a CVS account to access the server would be most welcome.
Yes, I'll vouch for him. João, before your first commit, please send me your files for me to take a quick look.
I should have inserted "file a CVS account bug", ... CC me.

Thank you, I'll be sure to do that.

Right, I'll file a CVS account bug soon and CC you then. Should João Neves vouch again on the CVS bug or is the one here sufficient?

Joao, what's holding this bug up?
I'll carry over the voucher.
we have almost done localization (some corrections needed) for sunbird/lightning but we cannot contact João Pinheiro what can we do now to submit our localization?

As usual work is being coordinated at http://firefox.ansol.org/
I'd like to hear back from both Joaos on this.
Axel, since João Pinheiro seems to be unresponsive, I would consider that
quite a high burden.

Especially since a fully working European Portuguese translation of Lightning or Sunbird never existed, so I consider this not as a takeover but as the first real implementation.

From the Calendar side we have no objections, against Carlos being the official translator for European Portuguese. Therefore I'd ask you to reconsider.

If the existence of a cvs account for João Pinheiro is the problem, then that account should be removed as he only used it once ever one year ago (2006-09-13).
João Pinheiro seems to have disappeared. He has unsubscribed from our mailing-list and removed itself from this bug. He isn't replying to emails. In the summer he was promising a first translation that never happened.

I've worked with Carlos before on the Thunderbird translation, and he has done a first Lightning/Sunbird/Calendar translation. He's willing to take care of this translation, and given the facts above, I second that.

I've asked Carlos to send an email to João Pinheiro explaining what's going on. He has done so. I'd love João Pinheiro to be in on this, but I'm not sure that will happen.

Simon, it's common habit to not assume that someone is unresponsive just because he or she doesn't reply to mails from one particular individual.

I'm fine with Carlos continuing here, based on jneves comment 16.

jneves, would it make sense to make Carlos a peer in general, with CVS write access? It sounds like he might have contributions to mail as well.

If so, please file a CVS account bug for Carlos. In addition to the usual cvs contributor form dance, instead of faxing it, please scan it and send it by email to both Marcia and me.
I filed a cvs bug here <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395016>.
allready sent the form to Marcia by mail.

Carlos has CVS access and has been responsible for Calendar throughout all the 0.8 process, so I'm closing this as fixed.
