After removing a bookmark that has a microsummary attached the microsummary service continues to periodically download the page and update the summary.

This is a log of what firefox throws into my console when updating the summaries. Neither of the two pages are bookmarked.

In the old bookmarks datastore, when you deleted a bookmark all its properties went away too.  But in Places, annotations don't necessarily disappear when you delete the bookmark they are associated with.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior.  Should annotators take care of cleaning up after themselves, each individually determining whether their annotations outlive the bookmarks (or history items) they are attached to?  Perhaps there should be a flag on annotations to indicate this.

Although bug 319455 promises to get rid of them for you someday, somehow, bug 341035 rather implies that you're better off clearing them out yourself.

Wontfixing all Microsummaries bugs, since the feature has been removed from the core product and previous versions won't get further fixes for it.
