In connection with the other bug reports that mention the Status bar (bottom right) incorrectly reporting unread message count I have found that mine resorts to both the Unread and Total values going to -1.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.(Unsure if connected) Retrieve and send all mail
2.Single click any mail item to view in pane at bottom of screen
3.Click the tree header above the inbox folder for that account
4.Look at the status bar bottom left
Actual Results:
Panes read:
Unread: -1
Total: -1
Expected Results:
Panes should have read:
Unread: 0
Total: 7
Theme: Default included in release
Talkback crash ID: N/A Thunderbird does not crash
System Config: Windows XP SP 2
Intel P4 2.0 Ghz (unsure cache sizes etc)
256mb RAM
Thunderbird Config: Two accounts (1 Yahoo POP3, 1 BTinternet)
Various RSS Subs

This only appears to happen with messages that are read (I recently downloaded all of mine from yahoo and so mass marked them as read).
In addition this does affect my RSS account with read items!
