User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060901 BonEcho/2.0b2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060901 Thunderbird/3.0a1 ID:2006090103 I am using the latest nightly build (auto updated) of Thunderbird to access IMAP account. Yesterday I noticed that the spell checker was not working. Today I cannot compose any message. Not a new message, not a reply, not a forward. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Compose a new message (New Message/Reply/Forward) Actual Results: The compose window is empty - as in no signature. In case of reply/forward, the original message is absent too. When I try to type, it appears as if the compose window is disabled. Although when I close the window, it does prompt me to save the message. Expected Results: I should be able to compose a new message, reply to and forward old messages.

Do you have extensions installed? If so, do you get the same result when running TB in Safe Mode? Can you enter addresses? Subject? Does the window *look* strange? If so, please attach a screenshot to this bug (using the Create New Attachment link above). PNG or JPG image, only of the affected window, is preferred.
Oh, this may be a dupe of bug 351057. There was a fix checked in yesterday, please try a new build; if it's working now, please mark this bug as a dupe of that one.
After filing this bug on Windows XP, I noticed the same issue on Linux. Although I have not verified the latest build on XP, the bug seems fixed on Linux. I am taking Mike's advice and marking this one a dupe of bug 351057. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 351057 ***
