User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 Tdb: version 1.5.0.7 (20060909) When I put some image to a new mail, it is showed inline (in the text). But when I save this mail (as draft, Ctrl + S), the pasting of image failed, only a little box appeared. When I close this mail draft, and reopen from draft folder, it accepts again the every image. When I save it, again lost the possibility of paste. Whats happening ? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. New Mail. 2. Paste image inline to the body (Ctrl + C in any app, Ctrl + V in the mail). 3. Ok. 4. Save (Ctrl + S) 5. Try to paste a new image. 6. The image is not appearing, only an empty box. 7. Delete the empty box, and close this mail (with save). 8. Open it from drafts folder. 9. The image paste is working again.

Scott MacGregor has made major changes to the image pasting code in Thunderbird 2.0. Could you grab a latest nightly and see if the bug is still present? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-mozilla1.8/

In this new version the image inline pasting is ***ABSOLUTELY NOT WORKING*** ! This function was very good in olders versions, because leisurely can paste any images to the body (to the position I need). Not need to save image, attach image, etc. This changing is very bad, I'm sad now... :-(
(In reply to comment #7) > In this new version the image inline pasting is > ***ABSOLUTELY NOT WORKING*** ! Please report exactly which version you are using (copy & paste the version string from Help|About) when you make such statements, otherwise nobody can help you. Right now, it is broken in version 2 -- see bug 223909. The problem you originally reported is different, and easily repeatable. And it's been reported before, altho I've only just confirmed that bug -- duping. As noted there, this is only a display problem -- if you send the message, the image will be sent and it will appear correctly for the recipient, and in your Sent folder. In fact, you can save it as a draft again, close the current window, and reopen the draft, and all the images will appear. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 346835 ***

I report it with eml. Sometimes the body containing images (I see them as red box, same that I wrote about in prev. mail), but I see they only in attachment section. Why ? Wrong formatted mail ? I attach the example eml.

Yes, that message is incorrectly formatted in several ways: 1) the images are referred to using cid: URLs, but the image parts don't have Content-Id headers. 2) The original Content-Type is multipart/mixed instead of multipart/related.
