red diamond or x appears instead of my image when copying and pasting images from a browser (by pressing copy CTRL+C or from the windows clipboard (screenshots by pressing prtscn button on the keyboard) into the body of a new, reply or forward email. usually it will allow up to 2 images then the red x appears but i've noticed it has a mind of its own and this is not always the case and routinely happens when type 1 or more charcters then press CTRL+V (paste) i've tried both VIEW > MESSAGE BODY AS > ORIGINAL HTML & SIMPLE HTML.
PLEASE NOTE: this is for (i think its called) embedded images in the body of a composing message and has nothing to do with attachments.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open new message, reply or forward
1a.write some text
2. press PRTSCN button on keyboard
3. open MS WINDOWS paint (or start > run > clipbrd.exe)
4. press ctrl+v (paste)
5. now crop image
6. copy or cut the image (i usually cut)
7. go into body of composing email
8. paste image crtl+v
9. repeat step 1-8 a few times
USUALLY AFTER some text and 2 images are pasted it starts to display a red diamond box instead of the image you are pasting. I've even tried to resize the red diamond & still don't do anything. People need to see what they are composing and what image is which especially when making screenshots in step by step order including text to email recipents.
Actual Results:
red diamond box
Expected Results:
showed my pasted image from clipboard

Which version of Thunderbird is this bug reported against?
This looks like a dupe of bug 346835. If so, the bug is not at all critical: just save the composition as a draft, close the current window, and reopen the draft.
> i've tried both VIEW > MESSAGE BODY AS > ORIGINAL HTML & SIMPLE HTML.
That setting doesn't apply to the compose window.

OK, I believe this is a dupe. If after you've upgraded TB 2.0 (after it's released, that is) you still have a problem, feel free to reopen this.
