User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061006 Sunbird/0.3 Sunbird 0.3 will open a remote .ics calendar hosted on an unencrypted Apache2 WebDAV server fine, but repeatedly crashes when I try to authenticate to it. However, the same build of Sunbird on a different PC does not exhibit this behaviour when authenticating to the same server to modifiy the same calendars. I've tried uninstalling Sunbird and deleting the remaining profile settings, then reinstalling to a different Program Files location and using the resulting new profile - but without success. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Subscribe to remote WebDAV/ics calendar 2. Attempt to change existing item, dismiss alert, or create new item 3. Enter authentiation details when prompted Actual Results: Sunbird "encounters an unexpected error" & crashes out. Expected Results: Updated the remote calendar. AppName: sunbird.exe AppVer: 0.3.0.0 ModName: msvcr80.dll ModVer: 8.0.50727.42 Offset: 000176d9

Can you get a Talkback ID for the crash? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback

Unable to get a Talkback ID - Talkback is installed & enabled but does not catch the crash. Attached error report is all I could get in terms of further details.
ispiked: i don't think calendar has talkback particularly happy or symbols well configured. it probably needs to wait for airbag. reporter: the file you attached is useless, but thank you for not pasting it into the bug :). probably /slightly/ better would be installing sunbird/lighting into a mcsmurf build if that's supported (someone else will explain if they see this comment).

Are you trying to access a http or a https calendar? The crash in msvcr80.dll seems to be a more general problem that affects trunk builds of Firefox 3.0, Thunderbird 3.0 and Sunbird. It seems that the crash is related to access to https urls. Until now it's not clear what system configuration or installed application triggers this problem. See http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=462490 and Bug 330271 and Bug 343988 for more information on this topic.

HTTP calendar. Not tried HTTPS yet, but hopefully will shortly.

According to Bug 330271 Comment #75 and following comments this is caused by the problem reported in Bug 331404. Resolving as duplicate. Unfortunately the fix for Bug 331404 is not yet contained in Sunbird (or Firefox or Thunderbird). You can use the tools that are attached in bug 331404 to fix your system or wait for a future release that contains the fix. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 331404 ***
