Patch untested. My knowledge of mod rewrite is very little.

Things that should be attended to before launch IMO:
Redirect RSS feeds (Wenzel - what are the new urls for these?)
Ensure that IT changes the redirects for the in-product urls at the same time as launch.

Other redirects I'm not so concerned about, although I'd very much like them to exist for all pages (URLs should be forever.)

I dig the joining of the firefox/tbird URLs and adding sunbird and seamonkey in there.

We don't want to be guessing what people who used the old suite want to get to, and seamonkey add-ons are by no means guaranteed to be a good experience for them.  We really don't have what they're looking for, so they should get the 404 page that says so, IMO.

Cameron: Is there a list of what RSS feeds should be migrated? Then we can match them up. I am not sure if we already replicated all feeds that were available before.

I've committed htaccess and test changes to catch sunbird and seamonkey as well, and used Cameron's most righteous regexpery there -- thanks for that, Cam.

We should also catch these v1 urls, they're still linked to all over the web (and from mozilla.org)

Cameron, that's true. I believe we can only add these redirects after we have an advanced search interface.

This depends on the addon sort order problems because we generate RSS feeds off the same code that's used to generate addon lists. Therefore: no addon list sorted by popularity => no such RSS feed.

With the landing of bug 370494, this bug was easily solved as well. I added rewrite rules to the htaccess file to cover the AMOv2 RSS feed URLs.

I also applied your patch, Cameron, and fixed some tiny mistakes. We should now also be all set for incoming v1 URLs.
