Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.1) Build Identifier: Thunderbird/2.0.0.0 During an install upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0, a message comes up that mozMapi32.dll can not be written, click OK to retry or cancel. Attempted a reboot without starting Thunderbird, but install continues to hang on this file. I was able to determine that because I had Thunderbird as my default Mail client, that this dll is loaded. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: Upgrade Thunderbird while it is set as the default mail client Expected Results: a message comes up that mozMapi32.dll can not be written, click OK to retry or cancel To work around this problem, I set my default email client to something other than Thunderbird, then re-attempted the install which worked this time.
Dupe/related: bug 378211?
Although Logitech software was installed, the fix was not to rename the dll as suggested, but to change the default email client. If this configuration change could be incorporated into the installed, it would solve this issue.
Duping, seems likely it's the same underlying issue.
