User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a5pre) Gecko/20070525 SeaMonkey/1.5a Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a5pre) Gecko/20070525 SeaMonkey/1.5a It is(was?) possible to create profile in custom location. Migrator always creates new profile in default user profile location. It must be possible to set location of new profile, or move profile to new location at any time. Reproducible: Always
The Profile Manager functions should allow you to set the locations etc. By the time the migrator gets running, a profile has already been selected/created for it. Use seamonkey.exe -ProfileManager to start it up before migrating and create a new profile, then exit and then do seamonkey.exe -P <newprofilename> -migration If you've already created profiles, then you should be able to edit profiles.ini manually if you want to move where the profile location is, if you can't do it via the profile manager.
Adding "/name" to the title so I can dup another bug to this as I consider them to be the same problem.
Summary: Migrator should allow to set new profile directory → Migrator should allow to set new profile directory/name
Mark, is "-P <newprofilename> -migration" usable with Firefox/Thunderbird too?
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
If creation of new profile followed by "-P <newprofilename> -migration" works with any product, I think following dialog when first start of Sm/Fx/Tb is sufficient. Profile migrator will create profile name of "default" in directory of <...>. If you want to use different profile name or to create in different directory, create profile of "New_Name" then start "-P New_Name -migration". "OK" to continue auto migration, or "Cancel" to execute manual migration This will automatically explain "how to migrate multiple profiles", and user doesn't have to read detailed migration procedure or detailed migration guide. Mark, what do you think?

Whilst its probably not the most ideal solution, I like the idea of it. The problem with the migrator at the moment is that by the time it gets a look-in the profile is already created. So, doing it your way would at least ensure users know its available.
