    adj to 32 rows, restart -> get 14 rows, restart -> get 14 rows
    adj to 15 rows, restart -> get 8 rows, restart -> get 8 rows
    adj to 9 rows, restart -> get 6 rows
    adj to 7 rows, restart -> get 5 rows

the thread pane shrinks in both classic and vertical layout, but not in wide.

Attachment: Fix v.1

The deck part covers Classic and Wide views, the width on the tree covers Vertical. Feels a little house-of-cards-ish, but it keeps us in sync with where mailnews is doing it. Testing is "fun" thanks to bug 389634 comment 5 - you need to use a build from before the afternoon of 2007-08-09 to change views.
