Details
We'd like to have a newsgroup added to the mozilla.dev.l10n. hierachy for the German localization teams, mozilla.dev.l10n.de.
This has been discussed by the contributors for Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and the websites per mail, and they'd all like to use this forum to join their forces and to discuss the questions arising around the different projects and the code they share.
Could we have two admins for the list, me and Henrik Skupin?

I think that also implies the creation of the appropriate mailing list dev-l10n-de@lists.mozilla.org

Dave, as Gerv is on vacation, could you grab this bug without his sign-off? From a newsgroup-hierarchy point of view, this is just what we did for a few other teams already, http://www.mozilla.org/community/developer-forums.html#localization for reference.

CCing Frank Hecker.

This seems consistent with what was already done for the Czech and Slovak localizations. Based on that I'm happy to approve this in Gerv's absence.

It would be nice to get the newsgroup/mailing list created asap. We already have a lot of topics to discuss and don't have another way in doing that. Thanks!

The mailman mailing list has been created, and initial moderator password mailed to Axel. Axel: if you don't mind, you can forward that email to Henrik when you get it. For whatever reason it would only let me put in one address on the list creation screen, so I could only generate the setup mail for one of you, but I could add the second one once it was created.
The mailing list is currently hidden, and will be opened to the public as soon as the newsgroup is live on news.mozilla.org.
Tickets have been opened with both Giganews and Google to get the newsgroups added.

This newgroup is now live on news.mozilla.org. The Mailman list has been made public.
Still waiting on Google Groups.

No response from Google on the ticket yet, but this group is showing up on Google Groups now, which is all we were waiting on.

Let's reopen this one, too. I'll comment with details in the l10n.in bug 392915, which is likely the same problem in the back.

The problem I mentioned after posting the first message was specific to my profile. Using Thunderbird under Mac OS X shows my posting on news.mozilla.org. As Axel pointed out there is synced nothing with Google Groups.

So, I have seen posts from news.m.o show up on google and a post of mine via google on news.m.o. Even though .in doesn't work yet, let's be hopeful that this isn't just coincidence and mark this one FIXED again.

Ok, after some days of activity I can verify that the newsgroup is created correctly. Thanks.
