quite often while i'm browsing with several windows open, right as i close a browser window, i notice something interesting on the page. also, i occasionally miss the "maximize" button and close a window, or close the wrong window in a set of cascaded windows. it would be nice if, for five seconds after i closed the window, i would be able to re-open it (in a new window) by using a simple keystroke in another mozilla window. why only five seconds? i just don't want it to be too easy for someone else who gets on my computer to look at what i just closed.

See also bug 147404, "Option to reload the tabs of the last closed Mozilla window", which is essentially a duplicate.

To be a complete fix, this needs to restore the window's "Back" history - or one loses the whole path browsed to that page into the forest of the day's History.

(In reply to comment #0) > it would be nice if, for five seconds after i closed the window Five seconds is not the best choice for everyone. As for me, it should be about a minute or two. Best of all is make this value set by user. And for default set about 30 secs.

Hey buddy, I just faced the same problem in FF3 and I would be happy if you guys can include ff also in giving the same above feature - ability to reopen closed windows - just the way you have given us the ability to reopen closed tabs. The problem is caused by several sites which now use javascript to forcibly open new windows (instead of tabs). That new window is not having navigational controls and is mostly for input of some comment/ message/ info/ login, etc. and once we enter that and submit or OK or whatever, then the window is automatically closed also. So, if there was some error in entry, or if we want to copy the long contents that we typed in that window, that are gone. So, it is not just my shabbiness of accidently closing the other window. It is some shabby websites which treat me like a dumbo moron and force opening and closing of other window on me. I hope you also had faced such situation and were frustrated with it. So, please do consider giving the same in ff also, probably in all browsers of mozilla group. Thanks.
