It's *really* hard to keep moz pages straight, and now we're adding another one to the mix that is using the dino head. Can we nip this in the bud and get our own? I can make it if people agree on a concept, or a few concepts to play with. Question mark is the obvious one. Should we try to go with that?

Bugzilla and devmo just got new favicons. Can we get one from the same person who did them? If not, should we follow the same format?
I think we should follow the same format as Bugzilla, in that we have the dino head in the bottom. It is a good way to symbolize that we are part of Mozilla (other then the Mozilla.com, following our address). It might also be good to include Foxkeh. I also don't know if a question mark is the best option.
Since this is a mozilla.com hosted website, we should probably use the same favicon as mozilla.com. Herr Slater, thoughts?
(In reply to comment #3) > Since this is a mozilla.com hosted website, we should probably use the same > favicon as mozilla.com. Herr Slater, thoughts? I disagree. We've actually been trying to move away from using the same favicon on all Mozilla sites. See http://blog.vlad1.com/2008/02/19/a-few-greasemonkey-tweaks/ for more on that.
I see. Still, as long as we don't have a specific SUMO logo/favicon, the lizard head is better than nothing, so I suggest we put the lizard up in the meantime.
(In reply to comment #3) > Since this is a mozilla.com hosted website, we should probably use the same > favicon as mozilla.com. Herr Slater, thoughts? Personally, I agree. I'd argue that, although the differences between SUMO and the rest of Mozilla.com might seem very great to people who work on the project, to the end user there's really no difference at all. It's the same root domain and, even more importantly, by the time FF3 launches SUMO and Mozilla.com will be completely visually integrated. Having said that, if the SUMO consensus is that there really needs to be a unique favicon I'm not going to put up a big fight about it, but in this case I think keeping it consistent with the rest of mozilla.com is the right move.

I like it!
W00t! Let's replace the current TikiWiki favicon we're using with this. :)

I suspect this is a matter of IT replacing the old favicon with the new one - as you can see, there is no favicon on staging (or in the svn files as far as I could tell).

Let's check with IT and see what the Netscaler-caching/lifetime rules are for this.
Doh. Convert it to .ico, and put it in webroot/favicon.ico -or- Put it in the headers of the various templates.

FWIW, there's are settings in the admin panel: <https://support-stage.mozilla.org/tiki-admin.php?locale=en-US&page=general> "Favicon icon file name:" "Favicon icon MIME type:" Will these need changing?
Target Milestone: 1.1 → 1.0
Chris: I don't think so. Anyhow, reopening. Caches need to be cleared or something. Try: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu+reference?style_mode=inproduct I don't see the favicon. Whereas on https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu+reference?style_mode=inproduct (with https, logged in) I really need to learn who to assign these to :)

Maybe it's a my local machine thing, then :) How's bug 465872 for you?
I see you have two sidebars as well, regarding bug 465872. Do you see two when logged in as well? This is what made me think it's a caching issue.

Also I saw the favicon, after reload.
Verified FIXED; cache holds on to CSS for a _long_ time :-)

(Assigning again) Maybe I shouldn't run away from future blame :)

Is it possible to specify the favicon in a config file or from the admin panel, or does this need to be hardcoded in templates?
Whiteboard: tiki_triage (see comment 28)
yes, just search favicon from tiki-admin.php
