[7830] addresses this.  Functionality complete, needs unit test.

As with bug 400715 I feel that including the full <addon> record in the results would be a good idea. Also can we specify a number of search results? I also don't see anyway of specifying the app version to find compatible versions for, but I may be missing that.
Giving full details fixed in r8680.
