Within the last two weeks or when I click on a URL link on a Thunderbird HTML message or a link contained within an email message my Firefox web browser is nor activated. There is no error message or any change in the page. The text will change to red as normal, and the url link address will show in the bottom left hand corner strip, also as normal but no activation occurs. This occurs whether or not Firefox is open or not Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. occurs every time Thunderbird is used. Software has been reinstalled twice. I have run Norton System works many times to see if there any software or system issues 2. 3. Expected Results: Based on my continued use of Tunderbird over many years, clicking a link opens the Firefox browser to the page described in the link

Try resetting firefox as default browser (may have to set some other as default, then set firefox again). Does that help?
may be dupe of bug 393927, that vista, this xp, also, resetting may just be setting IE as default and then FF as default again .. ain't this front-end not general?
could be considered dupe to bug 216252, though that is linux and this issue is very much os related
Is this still reproducible by either of the reporters here or in bug 429060 on the same issue with same platform and OS version? This sounds more like an OS issue with defining the default browser than an actual bug in Thunderbird.
Resolving INVALID due to the lack of further feedback. This appears to be an operating system issue setting the default browser. Please feel free to reopen if further information becomes available indicating a Thunderbird bug.

This issue has not been resolved - duplicate of 429060 It started many months ago with, I'm assuming, after an install of an update from Thunderbird and/or Firefox. one day you could click a link in an email and it'd open up in Firefox, next day, same computer, etc. it won't open up. from 429060 comments: (In reply to comment #7) THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED - and not only is it frustrating generally, there is no way to access WIFI's that are set up to access via email first page instead of web browser first page - you can't click into the WIFI system, although you are "connected" FireFox 3.0.8 Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 Windows XP Professional there are no errors in the error console, only messages which relate to my satellite monitor console 192.168.1.2 > (In reply to comment #6) > > This bug was first reported back in April-- 4 months ago.
