I just downloaded Thunderbird for the first time. But I won't use it until it gets the "Outlook Bar" feature that Outlook Express has. I find it extremely useful to have the large icons that I can drag emails to. The current "Favorite" or "Recent" folder views don't work for me because the icons are not large, and, because I want the large icons present at the same time as the full folder list so I don't have to toggle which folder view I want all the time. Thank you for listening.

Summary: enhancement request: I'd like to see the "Outlook Bar" like Outlook Express has. → I'd like to see the "Outlook Bar" like Outlook Express has.
I've started using the "QuickFolders" Add-on, and it's a pretty close substitute for what I requested, so I'm pretty happy with that.

Outlook Express is long gone and unusable nowadays and https://quickfolders.org/ seems indeed like a good suggestion for this use case.
