My inbox currently holds about 6000 mails, and doing a full text search requires about 40 seconds to complete.
This is even made worse by the fact that TB starts searching from the oldest mails... the result is that to search for a mail arrived e.g. in the last week, it takes all 40 seconds.
Maybe it's only me that is using full text search so often, but it really is a pain. Some kind of full-text indexing should do the trick, I think.
