For one or two days now I notice that the area around the favicon gets a strange focus line sometimes.

The Identity Indicator has recently become keyboard accessible (i.e. tabbable) and thus needs a way to indicate that it is focused. Try either Ctrl+L and Shift+Tab or alternatively just F6 (see bug 413844). What's this bug about? The dots being there at all (INVALID) or them not being styled per platform convention?

Thanks for pointing that out. So, let's assume the bug is about missing *native* style. I think the best solution here would be native theming for the whole identity button (as a real button), see bug 412321. This would also resolve this focus problem.
I understand from comment 3 that this is a dupe of bug 412321, so closing as such.
