This is a tracker bug for releasing Firefox 3 lv.

This bug is not that detailed, but as we get particular work items, they should block this bug for tracking, and better discoverability.

This currently is blocked by branching for Firefox 2, marking that dependency.

We have about 20-30% done for FF3, but we had 100% done FF2 strings so we are slowly merging them to FF3 and checking the rest.

Raivis: sure. Can you give us any estimations? We'd love to get you on board as soon as possible but we have to be realistic on this.

I have some progress..

We have basically translated all GUI. Now we plan to do some testing and then get to work on Help files. 

A question about l10n policy: Can we ship Latvian version of Firefox without help files?

Added lv to the Firefox 3.0.x builds, and dropped it from the incubator.

With Firefox 3, the in-product help is actually on support.mozilla.org, so there's nothing to do in cvs for that.

I'll file a bug to get lv enabled on SUMO (which is short for support.m.o).

I forced a first build on http://l10n.mozilla.org/buildbot/waterfall and the initial compare-locales output is http://l10n.mozilla.org/buildbot/compare/linux-langpack/11945.

Feel free to land your tree for Firefox 3, incremental landings are perfectly fine, too. And once the tree goes green, you should get testing builds from our infrastructure, too. http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/showbuilds.cgi?tree=Mozilla-l10n-lv is gonna start reporting, too.

Hi Raivis:

As you may know, code freeze for the release of Firefox 3.0.4 is tomorrow (October 24, 2008).  We would like to include lv as a beta version in this minor update.  Part of this process is getting a confirmation that you would like to do this.  Can you please respond to this bug that you would like to opt-in for this release?  We just want to confirm that you are OK with this decision.
