I thought about a grid with two columns: Attribute and Value; and three buttons: Add Attribute: It would add an attribute to the query, with a given value; adding a new row to the grid. Modify Attribute: It would modify the value of a given attribute of the query. Remove Attribute: It would remove the attribute; removing the row of the grid. That is far more intelligible to a normal user than a SQL-like query. Reproducible: Always

I'm sorry to say but I don't think GUI changes are likely to be made at this point. But this sounds like not too hard work for an extension, maybe you should write one or chat to an extension developer.

But this sounds like not too hard work for an extension, maybe you > should write one or chat to an extension developer. > Actually, an extension would have much sense, because the guy who might install it, would have the sufficient knowledge to edit a query. This isn't for me, I just found it non-usable for a kind of users, and wanted to suggest a way to improve it ;)

is not this a dupe of Bug 413134?
(In reply to comment #3) > is not this a dupe of Bug 413134? > I'm not sure if classify this bug as a duplicate, since bug 413134 seems much more complex (for non-power users) than this one. Maybe this should be a basic GUI, and bug 413134 be the advanced GUI (note that it is based in Bugzilla's _Advanced_ Searching Using Boolean Charts).
old query builder is commented out and a new one has to be created, duping to bug 436380, when new builder will be ready we will be able to take enh bugs to make it better.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
