French localization needs to land some content handlers for testing. I think there was already some discussion on this topic but I just can't find it. Some blog post ...

http://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox_web_services_Review mentions laposte.net. Other than that we should probably add the en-US defaults for content handlers, unless the French team has new ideas. Mic, anything new here on your side? (cleaning up dependencies, too, and this doesn't block firefox 3 per se, just the french release)

I really do think this should get in next french beta so it can get some exposure. This will be undertested if there is no defaults. Only a website of destination can add the content handler and I don't now of any website that as started using this function. For me this should block the release of Firefox 3 beta 5 in french... No, this would only block B5 if we had french services to test, which we don't. The actual feature will be tested in various other localized builds, and of course in en-US. And we're not going to push out B5 in order to wait for french service providers, of course. In particular as we don't have any ETAs there. Thus, unsetting target milestone.

filip and i had discussed adding la poste for mailto pascal and I have been having trouble reaching the organization, we're trying again otherwise i agree if we cannot get a local provider in time, we can at least ship with defaults, as i believe they are all available in french

for track records can you confirm no change to search engines: Google, Yahoo, Amazon.fr, eBay.fr, MediaDico, Wikipedia (fr)
Mic, no changes occurred on the searchplugins (name and order) except for Wikipedia (bug 425684)
thanks Cedric :)
We don't have a single protocol handler for French yet. Mic?

cedric, we need to take at least en-US defaults for RC1 to demonstrate the feature. I know that's not ideal. We'll be able change to accept la poste etc when they're ready for 3.0.1

Cedric, Mic, can you track down laposte in a follow up bug for Firefox 3.0.x? I'm closing this bug for Firefox 3.0, with reference http://hg.mozilla.org/users/axel_mozilla.com/l10n-src-verification/index.cgi/file/9cb3bac7cdb4/reference/HEAD/fr/.
