When an alarm is issued the alarm does not show which event or task it is for.
The alarm box it empty.

Works fine for me. Do you see any calendar related error messages in the Error Console? Do you use other extensions or themes that might break Lightning? If yes try to disable them or switch to default theme.

I was using the Walnut theme changed to default and it worked fine. 
The following was in the error console:
Warning: Expected end of value for property but found '0x'.  Error in parsing value for property 'padding'.  Declaration dropped.

I'd like you to switch from Walnut theme to default theme and retest please.
The warning message doesn't seem related to Lightning.

I have switched to default theme and the alarms do work fine.

There is the same problem on my system, thus I don't post a new bug. But I'm using the default theme!

The error console is empty.
