Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_2; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Safari/525.18 Build Identifier: 3.0a1 (2008050714) The disk image Thunderbird/Shredder comes on makes the drag&drop installation on a Mac very simple. The only caveat is, that the background image contains an icon that leads a user to believe, that he can drop the Thunderbird icon onto it, to install it into the /Applications folder. Other applications do in fact provide a proper icon there that acts like a symlink to /Applications and allow a true drag&rop installation. With Shredder, users need to do one of the following: Open a new Finder window and move the Icon or click on the tic-tac button on the Finder window of the disk image to reveal its sidebar, that usually contains a link. This scenario is highly confusing at best. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Download Thunderbird/Shredder 2.Open the disk image (or wait for MacOS X & your browser to do it for you 3.Drag the Thunderbird icon onto the greyed-out Applications icon Actual Results: The Thunderbird icon now lies on top of the greyed-out Applications icon. No copying has happened Expected Results: The Application should be an actual link to the /Applications folder to allow a one-step drag & drop installation from the disk image.
