User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080425 Firefox/2.0.0.14
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.14 (20080520)
When I receive email with application/xml or application/pdf or application/zip or application/octet-stream attachment Thunderbird do not show attachment pane and do not allow to save or open attached file(s). Tried with Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 and 2.0.0.14 on Linux x86_64.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Grab or compile Thunderbird for Linux, 2.0.0.14 on x86_64.
2. Configure it to send plain-text messages.
3. Create new email and attach pdf or zip file to it. Send it to yourself.
4. Get message from step 3 via POP3 and try to save or open attached file.
Actual Results:
Message arrived. Message body displayed correctly but attached file is not available. Message source view confirm that file still attached to email.
Expected Results:
Expected to see attachment pane with possibility to save attachment. Able to see it with image/png or image/jpeg attachments but not with application/zip or application/pdf or application/xml & etc. But no attachment pane shown.
Problem happens with 64 bit build of Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 and 2.0.0.14. Didn't tried 32 bit build. Mozconfig used for compile thunderbird and prefs.js can be found as zip attachment in the attached eml file.

Is this bug 426228? (If so, seems there are compile flags to work around it.)
