well, this bug isn't all that useful on its own.

something like "scrolling/panning performance needs to be 50% faster" would be better or some test that shows how fast it is or isn't.
So can we close it then and open a new one if/when we determine we need to work on scrolling/panning performance?

I've just installed and tried the latest release. I have to agree with the original statement that the scrolling and panning is slow and re-rendering the page is slow when compared to the default broswer on Nokia n810.

A speed up of more than 50% is needed. 100% would be great, but the main slow down is the rendering as the scrolling takes place. There is always blank white space until the scrolling is at its user end point, then the page re-renders.

Panning performance when the page is loaded is now decent, still more work to be done.

maemo perf is pretty solid now, more work we can do on windows mobile, but we should file individual bugs for those issues
