We can look for mails using a lot of criteria. However, we can't start a research using the extension or the name of an e-mail's attachement.
We can only start a research to find e-mails with an attachment or not.
Reproducible: Always
Expected Results:
Search mails in function of the name or the extension of the attachment.

As pointed out by Bug 83969 Comment 13, this bug is not a duplicate of bug 83969, which requested only searching for "has attachments". Whereas this bug wants to search/quickfilter, according to comment 0,
> using the extension or the name of an e-mail's attachement.
This bug isn't actionable as it does not specify any details about the proposed feature, like STR, actual results, expected results. It's not clear whether this refers to advanced "search messages" or quick search aka quick filter, or both (perhaps even Tools > Message Filters, but that's unlikely).
I'll duplicate this against
Bug 421187 - add quick search for attachment file name,
which seems to be a good starting point for the requested feature.
Otherwise, we'd need a new bug if it's about advanced "search messages".
Not sure how Global search could handle searches for attachment filenames, or if it currently does.
