Attached patch patch v.1 (obsolete) — Splinter Review
After 436084, spatial navigation will be part of the toolkit, but not hooked up to firefox. This patch makes spatial navigation work in the browser, but requires a preference (snav.enabled = true) to actually do anything.
Summary: hook snav up to browser → Firefox - hook snav up to browser
probably bug 296855 can be dup of this, once it has a newer patch that really hooks it up to ff dougt ?

someone should write an addon to do this. Antonio?

ohh .. I just missed that bug. dougt: Yeah, I can write an addon for that. Apart from hook it up, I will include support for snav pref set.
OS: Mac OS X → All
just got a addon for that. Code lives in http://easysnav.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ I have not uploaded it to amo bacause it needs some small changes in SNAV code itself: bug 463139 and bug 463514 (both waiting for review).

so I finally got some time to implement that and just submitted to AMO. It is in the sandbox now -> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10004 dougt, could you give it a try ? how could we close this bug ?
Has spatial navigation been forgotten for good with no hope of integration into Firefox? All the add-ons mentioned are no longer available on AMO. I've tried http://www.without-mouse.com, it's a nice attempt, but does not integrate well with many Firefox functions like caret browsing, focus (implies: can't do CTRL-ENTER on links, since it does not use focus, but separate add-on way to navigate), overrides normal arrows' functions (instead of adding new key bindings, or having it configurable), and seems to be leaking like a sieve in my Fx14 add-on heavy profile (much better in Nightly17, perhaps due to the famous zombie compartments fix).
Reading comments here and in bug 296855 it seems like this has already been implemented for a long time. What exactly is preventing this feature from getting into Firefox?
As far as I can tell, Spatial Navigation has been removed from trunk long ago. Wontfix?

(In reply to Antonio Gomes (tonikitoo) from comment #10) > As far as I can tell, Spatial Navigation has been removed from trunk long > ago. Wontfix? Could someone please put link to this deletion and rationale for removing this feature?
