Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
After upgrading from FF 2.0.0.14 to the final release of FF3, I was unable to open FF. I would click on the icon and nothing would happen. After disabling various programs, I determined that while Google Desktop is running, FF cannot open. As soon as Google Desktop is closed, then FF can be opened again. When Google Desktop is started while FF is open, a new, blank tab opens, then Windows says FF has stopped responding and shuts it down.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start Google Desktop
2.Double Click on Firefox 3 icon.
3.Exit Google Desktop
4.Double Click on Firefox 3 icon. (It should open this time)
5.While FF is still running, start Google Desktop.
Actual Results:
The browser wouldn't open until Google Desktop was shut down.
Expected Results:
It should have worked weather or not Google Desktop was running.
I have XP Service Pack 3 installed. Even though I mentioned specifically after an upgrade from FF2, it does it on a clean install of Windows and clean install of FF3.

Which was duped to bug 401513 (which is a topcrash) ;).
Reporter: did you try maybe downloading the latest version of google desktop, i think the app was updated, so give that a try.
I have the exact same problem. It has been suggested that I could fix the problem by simply updating Google Desktop. Problem is that I can't. This is my work computer and I'm restricted to Google Desktop 4.2006.0822.2101-en-pb. I can't upgrade. So if I don't have the option to update Google Desktop, how can I get FF3 to work? For the time being, I'm stuck with FF 2.0.0.16.
