Opening bug to track migrating documentation from www.mozilla.org. Eric, let me know if this content should be moved to MDC or if this is no longer relevant and should be archived. In addition to docs, there looks like there is some project information that could also be moved to wiki.m.o or kept on www.mozilla.org if it still active and the owners prefer to keep it there.
Editor development content should be migrated to MDC; project information probably should move to wikimo, but I'll let others voice their opinions there.

Eric (comment 1) -- are there particular web pages that I should be looking at? What do I need to know? Thanks!
I don't know about specific pages. Someone needs to do that analysis to decide what should be migrated.
To review all content in the Editor directory, you can go to

http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.org/trunk/editor/

If there's a list of pages that should be moved, I can redirect those and then we can archive everything else.

Ehsan and Sheppy, I have a proposal for what to do with this Editor content on mozilla.org. We need to migrate legacy content off of the site for the upcoming mozilla.org/.com merge so this needs a resolution.

I'd like to remove the content from the production site and redirect to the archived pages so people are given a warning that this content is out of date. Individual pages can then be migrated and redirected as needed when there is time.

http://www-archive.mozilla.org/editor/

The one exception to this is the following page that gets lots of traffic (over 15,000 page views yesterday) and because of this I think we should migrate it now to MDN.

http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/securityprefs.html

I have no idea if this content is still accurate or not, but moving it to MDN will give more people a chance to update it if it isn't.

Please let me know if this is acceptable or not so I can move ahead. Thanks.

This generally sounds like a good plan.

The contents of this page is still accurate, but there is a more important page that I'd like to preserve: http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/

I'm not sure if it's possible to host HTML files like that on MDN... Also, this is something that is reachable from google, so I'd like to preserve the link using permanent redirects.

Sheppy, can this be moved to some URL like https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Editor/MidasDemo or something?

FWIW, the archived version of that page is identical to the version on mozilla.org and people would be automatically redirected if it was archived. The archive notice isn't even included since the page doesn't include site templates.

http://www-archive.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/

With that having been said -- Ehsan, could I move the securityprefs.html page to MDN and redirect that and then archive the rest of the Editor directory?

Yes!
OK, the editor directory has been archived in r88516. Please let me know if anything breaks.

This includes a redirect of the securityprefs.html page to

https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Midas/Security_preferences

and the Midas Demo (and other pages) is automatically redirecting to

http://www-archive.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/

Thanks to everyone for helping with this bug.
