Opening bug to track migrating documentation from www.mozilla.org. Eric, let me know if this content should be moved to MDC or if this is no longer relevant and should be archived.
Yes, this needs to migrate; however, there is some XPConnect content already, so checking for duplicates is required.
cc'ing XPConnect module owners and peers.
can someone please provide a more precise/detailed plan? with redirects i'm not initially opposed, however i'm away this weekend and would like to be able to look (at a detailed map) say next Wednesday before i actually gave a real opinion.
I saw mrbkap's blog posts about XPConnect and wanted to ping this bug since people can still come across old docs about this on www.mozilla.org (the main page at mozilla.org/scriptable was last updated in 2005).

If anyone wants to help me identify pages that can be archived, redirected or migrated, you can see the current contents of the scriptable directory at

http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-org/source/html/
I set up redirects for the XPCShell page and the XPConnect main page to point to the relevant pages on MDC. I also archived the draft versions of the typelib_file.html (the commit history says these files were being made available for easy access to history, so these links now automatically take people to the pages on the archive site).

If anyone would like to review the remaining files and make recommendations for what else can be redirected or migrated, you can browse the files at:

http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.org/trunk/scriptable/

Note that the link mentioned in comment #5 is no longer pointing at the current repository now that we've moved to Subversion.

To follow up on this bug, archiving legacy content is now a requirement for being able to move forward with the mozilla.org/.com merge.

If there is no plan to manually migrate this content in the short term, we will go ahead with moving this content off of www.mozilla.org and putting it someplace where you can decide what to do with it on your own schedule. That may be either the www-archive.mozilla.org site or an archive section of MDN.

/scriptable pages have been archived and redirects moved into the main .htaccess file in r89043.
